Black Mantis Research was founded on a simple belief: modern businesses need practical security advice from people who understand how businesses actually operate.

My career began in hospitality.

For more than two decades, I worked internationally as a chef, consultant, and business owner, helping restaurants, hospitality businesses, and food operations improve quality, efficiency, and customer experience. During that time, I learned that successful businesses are built on trust, reliability, and attention to detail.

When the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted the hospitality industry, I adapted by expanding into digital business, technology, and cybersecurity. I completed professional training in cybersecurity, developed new technical skills, and spent several years working in international technology and cryptocurrency companies, including senior marketing and business development roles serving customers across the world.

This experience provided a unique perspective.

I saw first-hand how modern businesses rely on websites, cloud platforms, email systems, online payments, customer databases, booking systems, and digital communication tools. I also saw how many organizations—especially small and medium-sized businesses—were exposed to risks they did not fully understand.

Today, my work combines these two worlds.

Through Black Mantis Research, I help hospitality businesses, independent operators, and small companies understand and reduce digital risk. My focus is not on technical jargon or complex compliance frameworks. Instead, I help business owners identify practical vulnerabilities, strengthen their security posture, and make informed decisions that protect their operations, customers, and reputation.
